If you have ever stepped inside the Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar
role-playing game, then you know exactly how important vocations and professions
are. The vocations are so important to the characters in the game that they are
actually relied on more than the professions, which is something that you can
gain by choosing the correct type of vocation. In The Lord of the Rings Online,
you cannot actually choose whatever profession you want to be, but you can
choose the vocation that will give you the certain professions that you want.
When choosing a vocation in The Lord of The Rings, be careful about the ones
that you select. Just as one vocation may be useful in some point in time inside
the game of The Lord of the Rings, other vocations that include certain
professions may be even more useful for the same part of the game. However, you
are in luck when choosing a vocation because vocations actually consist of
groups of three professions. These professions are bundled together and labeled
Vocations, which is what each actual player of The Lord of the Rings gets to
choose. For example, there are 7 different vocations that can be chosen in The
Lord of The Rings. Each player can choose one Vocation, but that specific
Vocation consists of 3 Professions. Knowing this, though, can only help you on
your journey because you will more than likely need every bit of all 3
Professions that you have been given.
The seven different Vocations that can be chosen include the Armorer, the
Armsman, Explorer, Historian, Tinker, Woodsman, and Yeoman. Each of these
Vocations includes 3 Professions that a player must choose wisely from. For
example, the Historian comes with the Professions of the Farmer, Weaponsmith,
and Scholar. On the other hand, the Armorer comes with the Professions of the
Tailor, Prospector, and Metalsmith. So there are essentially eight different
combinations that a player can choose from when deciding on a Vocation.
Thankfully, though, each Vocation does come with 3 Professions so that if one
profession doesn't help a whole lot in the beginning of the game, there is a
higher chance that it will help you in the later stages of the game.
Altogether, Vocations are basically the meat and potatoes of the game when it
comes to the issue of developing your character. Even though practicing the
Profession that you have been given requires patience and practice, knowing how
to use your Profession to the fullest extent will ultimately give you endless
possibilities when playing the Lord of the Rings Online. So choose your Vocation
carefully and have fun playing this very popular game by Turbine, Incorporated.
