If you know anything about playing MMORPG, or massive multiplayer online
role-playing games, then you know that you need to stay on top of not only what
is happening in the game when you are present but also stay on top of what's
happening in the game when you are absent. Many people who have started playing
The LOTRO have not only enjoyed the game, but also have been addicted to it.
Like the many other role-playing games that are available to gamers all over the
world, The LOTRO has many rules and tricks of game-play that many people may be
familiar with, but others may not. Those who know them certainly have an edge
over the ones that do not, but the ones who don't still have plenty of time to
catch up. After all, The LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar, was only released in the
first half of 2007. Although it has attracted thousands of hardy Lord of the
Rings fans, many other gamers that are interested in role-playing games have
been interested in this version of the MMORPG as well.
Before delving into the magical and mystical world of Middle-Earth, there are
several basic things that you should know about the game in order to play. The
first piece of knowledge that you should be equipped with is that you cannot
choose your own character in the game, but you can choose the type of Race you
want to be. For example, there are four different types of Races, or characters,
that The LOTRO lets players choose from. These include Man, Elf, hobbit, and
Dwarf. Because each Race is so different, naturally it follows that each
component of the Race would be different. In fact, there are different weapons
that each Race carries, different roles that each Race has, and also different
components of armor that you are allowed to wear. One must take all of this into
consideration before choosing the type of Race that he or she wants to be. It
not only can be difficult to assess which Race you should be in the beginning of
the game, but the trick is to figure out which Race might get you farther along
in the game.
A second piece of information that you'll absolutely need to equip yourself with
is the type of character that you'll have. Many people think that this involves
choosing the type of Profession that you'll have, but in fact, it is quite the
opposite. Instead of choosing the Profession in The LOTRO role-playing game,
players have the chance to choose a Vocation that will ultimately lead to a
certain type of Profession. The way it works is that three professions of the
characters are bundled into one Vocation. This essentially means that choosing a
Vocation will be choosing three different types of professions, and all of these
professions have pros and cons that need to be determined. For example, the
obvious benefit that one has by choosing a Vocation that leads to a Cook
profession is that the Cook profession is able to make food and replenish and
gain more Power for himself.
